1I travel in time far into the distant future, the year 888,008 to be specific, and notice that humans have evolved and separated into two species: The Eloi and the Morlocks.
All animals have long gone extinct and the Eloi, who look like today’s humans but wear loincloth, are a little bit dumb and illiterate. They only feed in vegetation. The Morlocks are a sinister group, resembling today’s apes, who even control Eloi’s thoughts through dreams and feed in their fresh. They live underground as a primal tactic to avoid bright sun rays.
They only surface to hunt the Eloi when the sun is not too hot or during the night. That is the prime reason the Eloi build simple houses attached to edges of cliffs and live in them in order to avoid being taken away from their beds while sleeping.
Footnote:
- The fictional character describing this artwork is living now in some more than 800,000 years before the Eloi events happened. He just traveled in time into the future. His future is still in the past for us that are living today.
This fictional character is also living today, as a real person, and that’s me: Living in two age-periods simultaneously on our very old Earth. ↩︎
