Description:
I have been wondering what happened to the serious Pop tracks that we used to listen to back in the 2000s done by artists like Michael Jackson and other serious musicians. For a moment, I almost thought that MJ left Earth carrying Pop music with him but suddenly; the random thought of the Pop music done by Tanzanian artists like Diamond Platnumz, Harmonize, and Ali Kiba came into my mind.
In the early days of his successful career, Diamond (known for Pop hits like ‘Kamwambie’ and others) sweared in an interview that he can only allow the late Michael Jackson’s songs to defeat his own — that he can’t stand the thought of any other musician globally outdoing him! That’s the spirit!! He indeed kept his word: Pop would be so boring now if serious artists like Diamond Platnumz didn’t invade the industry. “Invade” since Diamond had to come from the ghetto and get into the industry by force just to pin this vow home!!
